Colégio São Gonçalo in Portugal joins Ariston Education global network of schools

Colégio São Gonçalo, a school with 16 years of history in Portugal, today announced it has joined Ariston Education, a growing international group of premium schools and creator of the AQ = EQ + IQ framework for future-ready learning. Colégio São Gonçalo becomes part of the Ariston Education family of schools — a community united by a shared vision: to help every pupil discover their talents, develop their full potential and build a future with meaning, purpose and impact.

A New Chapter, Same Identity

Colégio S. Gonçalo remains Colégio S. Gonçalo. Its identity, its values, its approachable manner, the personalised care it provides for each child, its team and, above all, the strong sense of community built over 16 years remain at the heart of everything the school does. Idília Ramos continues as Headmistress, leading the school through this new phase with the same commitment, passion and approachability as always. Daily life at school, the relationship between families and staff, and each child's learning experience will continue to be nurtured with the same care.

Room to Grow

Joining Ariston Education brings Colégio S. Gonçalo into an international community of schools, creating the opportunity to learn from other contexts, share experience, invest further in the quality of the school, and open new opportunities for pupils and staff. It also opens the door to a long-held ambition: extending the school's educational programme into the second and third cycles, so that many of the children growing up at Colégio S. Gonçalo today can continue their journey there for many more years — without losing the family atmosphere that sets the school apart.

As part of the Ariston Education network, the school's community will also gain access to Ariston's international programmes and additional skills development, including AI fluency and Human Power Skills, alongside further investment in the quality of the school.

Business as Usual for Pupils and Families

This is a change the school is making with its families, not simply for them. Parents will be able to learn more about this new phase — and about Ariston Education's culture and approach — at upcoming class meetings, with a further information session open to families on 24th of September. Beyond these conversations, nothing about day-to-day life at Colégio S. Gonçalo changes: the same leadership, the same teachers, and the same care for every pupil that has defined the school for 16 years.

Brian Rogove, CEO of Ariston Education, said:

“Colégio S. Gonçalo has built something special over 16 years — a genuine family atmosphere and a deep bond of trust with its parents. That is exactly the kind of school we want in the Ariston Education family. Our role now is to help Idília and her team do more of what they already do brilliantly: to give more children the chance to grow up at this school, for longer, while giving them access to the international resources, programmes and skills development that come with being part of a larger network.”

Idília Ramos, the Principal for Colégio S. Gonçalo, said:

“I want our families to feel that this is a change we are making with them, not just for them. This is an extraordinary chapter in our history — one that does not erase the 16 years we have built together, but builds progressively on them, so that the best of Colégio S. Gonçalo is yet to come. We are entering a new phase, a period of growth and development, in a changing world that demands access to new skills and competencies, and becoming part of the Ariston Education network provides us with the path to achieve that.”
