CEDES School outperforms the Albacete and Castilla-La Mancha averages in the University Entrance Exam

CEDES School, part of the Ariston Education family of schools, closes the 2025/2026 academic year in style. According to official data issued by the Rectorate of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM), the school's 188 students who sat the ordinary sitting of the Baccalaureate Evaluation for University Access (EvAU) achieved a final average score of 8.26 out of 10, placing CEDES well ahead of both the average for the province of Albacete (7.66) and the combined average of the four provinces in the UCLM University District — Albacete, Ciudad Real, Guadalajara, Cuenca and Toledo — which stands at 7.55 points.

The data, signed by the UCLM's Vice-Rector for Students, Ángeles Carrasco Gutiérrez, and officially issued to the school on 7 July, confirm that CEDES's advantage is not a one-off result, but is consistently repeated across the two components that make up the university entry score: the Baccalaureate academic record and the mark achieved in the exam itself.

An advantage repeated in every part of the exam

The UCLM's official breakdown places CEDES above both its provincial and university district averages across all three variables analysed:

• Baccalaureate academic record: an average of 8.67 points at CEDES, compared with 8.14 in the province of Albacete and 7.96 across the UCLM district as a whole.

• EvAU exam score: an average of 7.64 points at CEDES, compared with 6.97 in the province of Albacete and 6.96 across the university district.

• Final average entry score: 8.26 points at CEDES, compared with 7.66 in the province of Albacete and 7.55 across the four provinces of the UCLM district (Albacete, Ciudad Real, Cuenca and Toledo).

• Although a national average has not yet been published in Spain, by comparison with other provinces, both Albacete and CEDES have already outperformed several regions, including Castile and León (7.46), La Rioja (7.39) and Catalonia (6.40).

With 188 students sitting the exam, CEDES School once again demonstrates that its results are not down to chance, but to a demanding educational model, sustained over time and focused on preparing every student to make the best possible leap into university.

A new chapter, with the same high standards

These results arrive just as CEDES School begins a new academic year under the leadership of its new Principal, Raúl Fernández Pascual, who joined the school on 17 August. Fernández Pascual brings almost 25 years of experience in education and more than a decade in senior school leadership roles, including as Principal of Colegio Ágora and as coordinator of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme across several schools within Grupo Educativo EDUCARE, in addition to holding IB leadership certification from Universidad Camilo José Cela.

Thanks to these results, CEDES students who have already sat the Baccalaureate Evaluation for University Access (EvAU) have secured places at some of Spain's most prestigious universities, including the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM), Universidad Francisco de Vitoria, ICADE – Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Madrid, Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia (UCAM), Universidad de Murcia (UMU), the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and Universidad Carlos III in Madrid, among many others.
