British International School in Ljubljana (BISL) achieves world leading exam results

The British International School of Ljubljana (BISL), an Ariston Education school, has achieved an outstanding 85% pass rate across all subjects in IGCSE and AS/A Level examination results. The results clearly demonstrating the hard work, dedication and commitment of BISL students and teachers alike, and the academic excellence that BISL delivers. 

The latest set of results adds to the academic excellence BISL is known for, with the school offering a traditional British education in the beautiful Slovenian capital, with a personalised approach to learning enabling each child to achieve beyond their perceived potential. BISL´s ethos is to instil a passion for learning amongst young learners within a uniquely international setting. 

Outstanding results

Breaking down the results, BISL A level students achieved remarkable results, including

• 98% pass rate across all AS Level subjects 

• 22% A*-A grades across A Level subjects 

• 25% A*-A grades across AS Level subjects 

• Achieved a 100% pass rate in A Level Art, Biology, Chemistry, Economics, French, Further Mathematics, History, Literature in English, Mathematics and Physics 

• 100% pass rate in AS Level Business, Chemistry, Economics, French, Further Mathematics, Geography, History, Literature in English, Mathematics, Physics and Psychology 

• 100% A* - A grades in A Level French and Russian 

• 100% A* - A grades in AS Level French and Further Mathematics 

• Two of BISL AS Level Mathematics students also achieved exceptional results, with one student reaching the top global 1% placing the student among the very best globally. The other student reaching the top global 4% ranking the student amongst the top performing students across the globe.

Impressive IGCSE results

This year, an impressive 44% of all IGCSE grades were A–A*, while 78% of grades were A–C*. Several subjects delivered particularly exceptional results, with 100% A–A grades in Economics and Co-ordinated Sciences*, alongside 86% A–A in French, 71% in German and 67% in Computer Science*. In addition, Year 10 students achieved 48% A*-A in Literature in English and Mathematics, with some students progressing onto A Level Maths in Year 11.

Individual achievements were equally impressive. Several students achieved A or A grades across every IGCSE subject they took*, including one student who accomplished this across eight entries. Another achieved seven A–A grades from eight entries*, while several students secured six A–A grades from seven entries*.

These results are the culmination of years of hard work by students, supported by dedicated teachers and families. Throughout the academic year, students engaged with challenging programmes of study, revision support, enrichment opportunities and university preparation activities, all of which contributed to their success.
