Baleares International College, Mallorca celebrates exceptional IGCSE and A Level results

Baleares International College (BIC), Mallorca, an Ariston Education school, is celebrating an outstanding set of results in this year's IGCSE and A Level examinations. Across both cohorts, students have achieved higher grades, stronger pass rates and more top performances than in previous years, a reflection of the dedication of BIC's students, teachers and families.

The results add to a strong year for BIC, which joined the Ariston Education network in August 2026 across its two campuses in Mallorca — BIC Sant Agustí and BIC Sa Porrassa — and continues to build on its reputation for combining a broad, personalised curriculum with high academic ambition for every student.

Outstanding A Level results

Breaking down the results, BIC's Year 13 students achieved remarkable outcomes, including:

• 98% pass rate across all A Level subjects

• 13 A grades achieved — more than double the number achieved the previous year

• Nearly a third of all grades awarded at A* or A

• Over half of all grades awarded at A* to B

• 86% of Mathematics grades at A or A*, with every Further Mathematics student achieving A* or A

• 50% of Physics grades at A* or A, with almost 90% of Biology, Chemistry and Physics grades at C or above

• Nearly half of all modern language grades at A* or A, across the six languages offered — Spanish, French, German, Russian and Persian — including five students achieving A in Russian and two securing A* in Spanish

• The largest Year 13 cohort in the school's recent history, 70% larger than the previous year

Four students — Laia, Ismene, Aiken and Lilly — achieved straight A* and A grades across all of their subjects, with strong individual performances also recognised for Margarita, Emma, Marcel and Anaya. Students are progressing to universities across Europe, the United Kingdom, the United States and beyond.

Impressive IGCSE results

This year, 83 students collected 456 grades across 19 subjects, with 78.5% of all grades awarded at A*–C (grade 4) equivalent or above and over a third at grade 9/8 or A*/A. Fifty-five grades were awarded at the top mark, grade 9 or A*. Nearly three-quarters of Year 11 students achieved five or more good passes at A*–C, and two-thirds achieved five or more including English and Mathematics. On average, students outperformed their predicted potential by almost three-quarters of a grade, with three in four entries meeting or beating their target grades.

Several departments delivered particularly strong results. Mathematics recorded a record 23 grades at 9/8, with 63% of grades at 7 or above and students exceeding their targets by more than 1.5 grades on average. In Modern Languages, 74% of Spanish grades were A*/A and 100% of French grades were A*–C. Sciences achieved their best results in four years alongside an all-time high number of entries, while 50% of Drama grades were A*/A. Among Year 10 students entered early for languages, 25 of 27 entries achieved grade A*.

What strikes me most is not any single headline figure but the consistency — three quarters of our entries met or beat the targets set for them, and that happens because of sustained, patient work by students and teachers over five years, not because of a good fortnight in May. These results are the culmination of years of hard work by students, supported by dedicated teachers and families across both of BIC's campuses. Throughout the academic year, students engaged with challenging programmes of study, revision support, enrichment opportunities and university preparation activities, all of which contributed to their success.
