Britannica International School (Shanghai) achieves outstanding IGCSE and A Level exam results

Britannica International School (Shanghai), an Ariston Education school, has achieved a 100% pass rate across both its Year 13 A Level and Year 12 AS Level examinations, alongside an outstanding set of IGCSE results for its Year 11 students in the June 2026 series. The results clearly demonstrate the hard work, dedication and commitment of Britannica students and teachers alike, and the academic excellence that Britannica delivers.

The latest set of results adds to the academic excellence Britannica is known for, with the school offering an outstanding, internationally recognised education in Shanghai, and a personalised approach to learning that enables each child to achieve beyond their perceived potential. Britannica's ethos is to instil a passion for learning amongst young learners within a uniquely international setting.

Outstanding A Level and AS Level results

  • Breaking down the results, Britannica Year 13 A Level and Year 12 AS Level students achieved remarkable results, including:

  • 100% pass rate across the entire Year 13 A Level cohort, with every student receiving multiple university offers

  • 100% pass rate across the entire Year 12 AS Level cohort

  • 100% A* grades in A Level Fine Art and Chinese

  • 100% A*–B grades in A Level Fine Art, Art and Design, Spanish, French, Mathematics and Further Mathematics

  • 100% A*–B grades across every language offered at A Level – English, Chinese, French and Spanish

  • 100% grades A–C in AS Level Business, Chinese, Computer Science, English Language, History, Media Studies, Physics and Psychology

  • Individual Year 12 AS Level highlights included Rachel (AAAA), Harish (AAA), Huanyu (BBBB) and Noah (AABB), reflecting the breadth and consistency of achievement across the cohort.

Paul Farrell, Principal of Britannica International School (Shanghai), said:
“These results are a wonderful reflection of the hard work, resilience and ambition of our students, and of the outstanding dedication of our teaching staff who support them at every step. Every member of our Year 13 cohort has earned the university offers now in front of them, and I could not be prouder of what our students and staff have achieved together this year.”

Impressive IGCSE results

Year 11 students also delivered an outstanding set of IGCSE results in the June 2026 series, sat under the Cambridge examinations board. Mandarin Chinese achieved a 100% A* pass rate, every Literature in English student was graded B or above, and half of all Physics entries were awarded the top A* grade.

Individual achievements were equally impressive. Chihiro achieved four A* grades (Physics, ICT, Literature in English and History) alongside four further A grades across eight entries, while Shaswat secured a clean sweep of A* and A grades across all seven subjects, headlined by A*s in Literature in English, Physics and First Language English. Jessica was graded A or A* in six of her seven subjects, including an A* in Chinese as a Second Language, and Denis achieved A* grades in Mandarin and Physics with no result below a C across six subjects. Anthony achieved an outstanding 99 Uniform Mark in Mandarin Chinese, one of the highest individual marks achieved anywhere in this year's results.

These results are the culmination of years of hard work by students, supported by dedicated teachers and families. Throughout the academic year, students engaged with challenging programmes of study, revision support, enrichment opportunities and university preparation activities, all of which contributed to their success.

Brian Rogove, CEO of Ariston Education, said:

“A well-deserved congratulations to the teachers and students of Britannica International School, who under the leadership and guidance of Paul as its Principal have achieved such outstanding results across IGCSE, AS Level and A Level. We could not feel prouder that they are a valuable member of the Ariston Education network.”
